Guru - The Indispensible

Not everyone realizes the importance of a Guru - Teacher. I have realized it many times in my life.

Be it art, science, programming, yoga - whatever! without a good teacher, its difficult to master it! May be some people are self-starters and they learn on their own. But even then, they might also have some indirect teachers.

I have gone several classes for learning classical instruments, vocal, swimming, dancing, Java, yoga, etc,. But only a few have I completed successfully. I used to wonder what is wrong with me since I was not able to complete most of my courses to the full. It is then I realized the importance of a good teacher - A teacher who understands you!

Every student is different - unique! And a teacher must understand this and change their teaching methodology to suit the individual needs. Having some pre-framed standards or steps for teaching is not going to satisfy everyone.

A teacher should match the pace of the student and the student should give his 100% to the teacher. Understanding each other is the key to success.

The Learning will bring happiness - not only to the student but also to the teacher. Beyond money, it will bring in a special bond between them because of the energy exchange - knowledge transfer.

Blessed are those who find right Guru. Blessed are those who find right student. I think teacher-student relationship is divine - whatever be the object of learning!

Katradhu Tamil (Tamil M A)

I saw this movie yesterday because of the compulsion of my friend. He said its nice and he has watched it 8 times!

My Gaaud!! After watching the movie I was wondering about the patience and perseverance this fellow has - watching it for 8 times!! Of course the movie was taken well and its a different type of movie. But its full of negativity! It is a wrong thing - done in a right way!

After watching any movie you should feel relaxed and light! And if the movie gives you some more information - science or life or whatever - its good!

But this movie is not for relaxation at all! Everything projected in only one perspective - negative angle alone. Already there are so many things to worry about in life. Many things that can easily make you feel sunk! Why the hell spend some 3 hours and make yourself feel sad more!

If the guy studied Tamil and dint earn much what can we do? Every field has competition. There are people who studied Eng. and are jobless as well. There are literates who earn well as professors in colleges. I totally agree that its a pity-full state person who studied Tamil is not respected in Tamil Nadu! But you cant blame the IT guys for that! You cant go and kill someone for that! Its stupidity!

This movie is trying to justify and encourage all negative emotions!Things that do not deserve more attention, should not be given attention. Unnecessarily, taking a movie like this clearly portraying negative feelings in a psychotic way is really not healthy for the minds watching it! It can corrupt an innocent mind!

I wonder why such movies are taken!

It would be nice...

if I live in such a world..
in such a place... where I do not need to face competition.
Face terror..
Fear about destruction! - The Destruction of Self..
Fear that I might be corrupted! My mind would be corrupted!
Fear that I might loose everything..

Only when I have something will I be able to loose something.

What if.. I live in some place.. just a small farm house where in I plough the land and produce the food I want to eat?
And produce - just enough for filling my stomach.
Just do daily activities..
Just live to enjoy peace..
Enjoy the nature and beauty around me!
And just dont think about all the complications of man-created world!
Office-Schools-Higher Education-Job Promotion-Higher pay-New house-TV-Fridge-Washing machine-laptops-robots-etc-etc! And what not?

Why should nt I just learn to live with myself alone..
Rather than to learn about the high-tech human brains around me!
Rather than to adjust with so many minds, why not focus on a single mind?
Why not just learn to be my own self rather than to have multiple faces?

Is it something that can be achieved in Virtual world alone?
Is it me or something else? - Stopping it from being real

Vishnu Sahasranamam

Again, its another long break.

Now, the thing that is keeping me busy is "Vishnu Sahasranamam". So these days in my free time I try to read the meanings of the slokas. I am reading it online from this link.

The link gives short and clear description for the sanskrit words and also some additional comments are given based on Adi Sankara Acharya.

Its nice to know the meanings and also now I noticed the mistakes I did in pronunciations of some words.

Till now read only 100 names. Long way to go! Hopefully I will be able to understand the meaning of the full sloka..
