Boundaries of mind

Mind is capable of thinking anything. But why dont all human minds think everything?

Minds thinking ability is limited by one person's principles of life. For some, killing is a very big crime. His mind wont go to that point. For some, the mind will go to the extent of cutting one's body into pieces.
Say, if a child is brought up by saying things like "If you do this, you will be punished! God will come and punish you in sleep! etc etc", it develops some kind of fear for punishment. If the child's questions are unanswered, it will mostly stop ask questions. In these cases, the level of thinking is limited by fear or by boredom. It can be a variety of such external and internal factors.

Mind needs different things to get engaged. If you dont give it, it either can sink into boredom or it can also jump high to extreme thoughts.

So when does some extreme thoughts come? From my experience, extreme thinking comes to those who have enjoyed lot of freedom. Unobstructed thoughts, both constructive and destructive can come to such people who work by logical reasoning rather than just following some "laid-down" principles. Scientists and great discoverers and inventors are people who think beyond boundaries. Who have basically no boundaries for their thoughts. Thats how some new invention is taking place. "Something new"!
And extremists/terrorists are also like that. They also do not have boundaries in their thoughts. But their thoughts are destructive. it invents different new ways for attacking and destroying things!

So, for making the mind to do its best, it needs freedom! It becomes highly creative when given full freedom. But channelizing the minds energy into something constructive is the main point.

Uncontrolled Mind Is Disastrous

Human mind is always working.. Even during sleep! Thats how we get dreams..
It just keeps on thinking something... And when left uncontrolled, it can really go to any extreme! The controls or boundaries for a mind to think, depends on the individuals "principles of life".

Mind is so powerful that it can create the world it wants. I mean, not only it just thinks, it also gives life to the thoughts. It uses the body for executing what it wants. It gets the energy to think also from the body - through the food. Food really matters a lot for mind as well.. The kind of food that you eat can influence the thoughts your mind can produce. This is what yoga teachers and other personality development teachers tell us these days in all courses.. Avoiding onions, garlic, etc., can make a lot of difference in the way mind works..
Not eating anything will also affect the mind. It cant think properly. Discontinued thoughts, forgetting continuity, sudden blankness, etc can comes because of lack of energy - lack of food!

"Idle mind is devils workshop" - Basically mind is never idle. Thats the problem. I think its the uncontrolled or unfocused mind referred in this saying as well.. It just thinks without any goal and generates some random thoughts. These random thoughts can be just some kind of disconnected thoughts or these can be dangerous as well. Because, before we realize where it leads, it can lead you to think that the whole world is dangerous to live! People around are bad! etc etc! And, in a moment, a person can even go to the extent of suicide!
And the same mind is capable of thinking about small - lighter things and just being happy..

Just a little of control is what it needs. And to control it, consciousness is what needed. Ask questions like "Will I be happy after doing/saying this?". If ans is no, dont do it.

Is India wasting money in Cricket?

I think "YES"!

I know many "die-hard" fans of Cricket in India will burn me alive for this statement! :-)
But actually, I think yes! India is wasting money on Cricket!

Cricket is not even our National Game. We got it from England and we are focusing so much of valuable resources on it! When we say there are many Indians without food, shelter, proper clothing, etc., then why should we "waste" money in Cricket? That too when we dont win all the time! Oh yea of course I know that India won Australia in recent matches and thats what many Indians are proud of now..

But, my question is does China play Cricket? Japan? Those are making economic progress like anything! Aren't they? Why are we wasting so much money on a 'game'? that too of 'Foreign Origin'? Oh yea, we always welcome everything and encourage everything! But we should first see whats more important! Food or entertainment? Economy or world cup?

I am really wondering does Cricket give some kind of revenue to our Country? Anything to do with our progress in Economy? Even if its going to do so, say, by these advertisements, etc., I 'feel' that if we calculate the total amount of money spent in preparation for these matches, in coaching the players, in traveling, etc., etc., would exceed the amount gained.

Of course, there are some good 'side-effects' because of cricket like providing employment to many people who are involved. Again, when considering the bad side-effects like
1. Ppl wasting lot of time in watching these matches.
2. Productivity of working ppl is reduced during cricket matches since they constantly go out for checking scores.
3. Cricket fans getting too much involved in the matches and attempting suicide or things like that..
and so on, again I am drawn towards the conclusion that Cricket is waste of time and money.

Yes of course, its a means of entertainment and people do need entertainments for a peaceful and enjoyable life. Actually, I am not totally against it. But I think its given more importance than what it really deserves!!

Its our responsibility to check whether its right or not when something is taking away a lot of our resources. We should be deciding what we want considering all the factors. And I think We don't need to give so much importance to Cricket when we have so many other burning issues which need immediate attention. We should have some focused strategy to improve our economy. A real focused one! Then only we can see immediate progress!
